Jordan Rugby is intensifying its development efforts through the T1 Rugby program, designed to engage a broader audience and nurture emerging talent across all levels. Launched by World Rugby in October 2023, T1 Rugby is the world’s first non-contact variant of the sport, crafted to enhance participation by making rugby more accessible and appealing, especially to the youth.
Led by Ahmad Hamouqa, Director of Rugby and High Performance, the T1 program fosters a safe and inclusive environment. It is engineered to cater to everyone, irrespective of age, ability, or background, aligning with World Rugby’s mission to make rugby a global sport for all. The program emphasizes fun, fitness, and inclusion, ensuring a welcoming and time-efficient experience.

“The T1 initiative is central to our efforts to expand rugby’s reach and cultivate a new generation of players. It focuses on skill building, teamwork, and a non-contact format that welcomes a diverse group, particularly increasing female participation,” Hamouqa explained.
This summer, Jordan Rugby is set to expand the T1 program with the launch of a youth academy aimed at building fundamental rugby skills, fostering personal growth, and preparing young athletes for competitive challenges ahead.
Jordan Rugby remains steadfast in its commitment to the T1 program as a key element of its strategy to drive the continuous growth and prominence of rugby both nationally and globally. This innovative approach not only broadens participation but also positions Jordan as a dynamic force in the international rugby landscape.
